Looks like I'll be attending Polaris after all - got the invite to be an Author Guest and everything! Woo! Go me!

Plus the Girlfriend wants to meet Matt Frewer, so. :D

It's been brought to my attention that I don't blog enough about my work, and so, here we go: regular updates about writing, editing, publishing, etc.

The Truthseekers 2 launch was pretty well attended (by which I mean, there were actually people I didn't know in the audience) and initial reviews are encouraging. Being told "I read it on the train and didn't put it down at work until I was done, worrying my boss would catch me the whole time" is pretty awesome. People are calling it a pageturner, and "too short!" - so that tells me people want more.

That said, this morning I fired up Word (and yes, like the majority of the known world enslaved to our tyrannical overlords at Microsoft, I hate Word 2007) and set down the opening words to Truthseekers 3 (tentative working title: Level Up, unless I can't stand it in the morning).

This summer is going to be pretty action-packed for me, so no guarantees for the release date.

So Princess Smith and the Clockwork Knight has gone out to an agent. Updates as events warrant.

Truthseekers 2 being at the editor leaves me with a curious void in my life. I'd grown accustomed to all-Ashley, all the time.

Once the show is over (tickets still available! get them while there's still good seats!) I'm going to be all-Ad-Astra, all the time - getting ready for the launch, signing pre-ordered copies of Truthseekers 2, printing out promotional stuff, PLUS the Ages of Wonder launch. Both are going to be the same day, Sunday March 29th.

And then... April. I think I will treat myself to writing that Action-Cityverse not-a-Squirrelman-sequel that's been kicking around in my head.

So Truthseekers 2 - Birthright is off to the editor! Hooray!

*collapses at his keyboard*

TS2 - currently stands at 82,808 words. If I add 20 more it's a numerical palindrome.

Well, the first draft, anyways. Now to polish and format it, and off to the publisher for editing.

Nine days ahead of schedule! Nine whole days to polish! LUXURY!!!

As little as I am able to believe this, it seems that with my publications last year I am now eligible to be nominated for the Aurora Awards, celebrating excellence in Canadian speculative fiction.

Hello all! This is a general announcement to... er... announce... that sandman7 and I will be participating in a reading, followed by a signing, of our stories in the anthology MISSPELLED, edited by Julie Czerneda!

The third shipment of Squirrelman books (containing the second book, which is the first volume of SINS OF THE PAST, a possibly unique combination making it the first, second, and third book in a trilogy) arrived at my cousin's place today! Hooray! At some point there will be a photo of the open box etc, but tomorrow I'm headed to Polaris to sell as many as I can! Woo!
