Well, it will come as no surprise that last night at Clyde's, INVISIBLE and RANDOM COLOUR rocked the house. I suspect we were all a little nervous (the sheer size of the crowd was a little daunting, frankly) and we hadn't played to an audience in over a year, but despite a little shakiness, we overcame and surpassed even ourselves.

Thanks, everyone, who came out to see us. Your support and encouragement were greatly appreciated. Thanks especially to everyone who came from far, far away, like the lovely avren and her occasionally-amusing husband, and the amazing milk_an_honey. With fans like these, well, that's half our job right there!

Our next musical extravaganza is the evening of May 19th.

At Clyde's in Pointe Claire.

Right on the 211 route / the Lakeshore.

It used to be The Pioneer.

Mark that date, people!

Forty five minutes on the guitar. Not as bad as I feared, but definitely not where I was two weeks ago. Fingers like mush, left hand cramping, back killing me from looking down.

But! Standing and playing a success; even managed some moving about. The jump on Folsom is trickier than it looks.

Tragically Hip's Montreal is in the bag. The Cramps' Strychnine, too. Bela and S&V good to go.

Folsom, Dee Dee, and Sheena elude me, still.

20 minutes isn't nearly enough time. After twenty minutes I'm thinking, "But I just got warmed up!"

Practiced standing while playing and not looking at my hands and even occasionally singing. Eep. Holy multi-tasking Batman.

Sheena eludes me, though I managed the chorus. Not as fast as those mad bastards Invisible, but then, who plays anything that fast?

Montreal's good to go. Strychnine too, once I get the singing into it. Poor Dee Dee needs some work.

Still need a guitar icon.

Forty minutes to make up for the twenty I missed yesterday, ouchie.

Bela Lugosi's Dead (that's it?!)

Sex and Violence (surprising we didn't see it sooner, really)

Montreal (hey I can almost actually sing along where I'm supposed to be singing)

Folsom (umm... no)

Common People (yeah not so much)

Sheena (er... I got the chorus, anyway)

Strychnine (look ma, I don't have to look at my hands!)

Poor Dee Dee (jesus we play that fast)

20ish (more, not less) minutes. Poor Dee Dee, Sheena is a Punk Rocker, Montreal, Strychnine.

Ow.

Or Eddie Van Halen, for that matter?

Dangit.

Now three fingers hurt. Because I was practicing chords. A, D, and the other one, if you must know (E).

And Strychnine, Montreal, and the Poor Dee Dee solo.

20 minutes.

Gonna need a new icon, yo.

Today: 25 minutes. Now two of my fingers on my left hand hurt.

Training exercises: The riff from Strychnine by The Cramps, the opening to Montreal by the Tragically Hip, and the solo from Poor Dee Dee by Invisible.

My back hurts, too. Sitting is less conducive than expected. I may need a strap so I can practice while standing.

25 minutes today.

Left index finger sore.

Great respect for chibipunkdemon for his solo in Poor Dee Dee. (Much respect in general; specific respect specifically.)
